Solar Canada is the biggest professional event in the solar industry in Canada. The annual Solar Canada event has been held in Ontario for many years, and 2018 was the first time in Calgary, Alberta. The show focuses on innovations and policy changes throughout all aspects of the solar industry. Each year it attracts thousands of people to the Convention Center and while not there with our own booth, we certainly went to check it out!

On Wednesday evening, 20 June, at the pre-conference BBQ at SAIT, we were able to see the worlds only tracked solar carport – an impressive contraption.

Giving an interesting demo of how solar trackers work, GPJoule had set up one of their PHLEGON single axis trackers.

The main event was also filled with great exhibits and insightful learning sessions. The PV install competition was a fierce battle between the three participating installers, with Solar Farms coming out on top as chosen by the judges from SAIT.

We are excited to have been part of this great event and are looking forward to seeing everyone there again in 2019 – with a booth this time.
